Eltrombopag is an oral TPO-RA that stimulates platelet production in bone marrow. Eltrombopag binds to the transmembrane domain of the TPO receptor, and activates many pathways at the receptor site, resulting in increased megakaryocyte progenitor proliferation and platelet production.
